Road Trip '12
Road Trip '12 is an educational journey to create a focused technology integration team of educators who feel comfortable using technology, who are willing to step out of their comfort zones, who learn to reflect as professionals, and who will grow into mentors. Buckle your seat belts, and get ready for a high-energy, information-packed ride!
Because the camp expectations involved serious commitment to the summer professional development and follow through during the next school year, an application process was used to select the group. A flyer was emailed to all potential applicants with a link to the application (Google form).

Where will we go?
As teachers, our destination is student success – preparing our students for their futures. This involves knowing what students need to be successful in today’s world, but also knowing what we have to do as professionals to continue to learn and grow.
What will we do?
We will pack our bags with some of the best technology and common core resources, form a caravan - a collaborative district team that will travel together and support one another's efforts, and explore all kinds of attractions along the way - the technology tools that excite our students and help us grow professionally.
How will we get there?
We will use technology as a vehicle to reflect as professionals in a digital world, to rethink our current teaching practices and refuel with exciting resources and new ideas.
How much will it cost?
The cost of this trip is FREE! However, being part of this group means we agree to...
~maintain a travel log (blog about our journey)
~spend time in the construction zone (design and carry out a technology project with our students)
~tell others about our trip (share experience with peers through professional development, showcases, etc.)
Participants were chosen and received word of their acceptance when they arrived at school one morning.

Road Trip - The Theme!
An important part of all of our camps is "theme", and the teacher camp is no different. A theme allows us to immerse participants in an experience where they can make connections and have fun! A theme also establishes an identity for the group.
We play close attention to detail when carrying out a theme - from room decorations, to music, to the agenda, to what we wear, etc. When campers arrive, Road Trip music is playing in the background, breakfast is ready, and everything is prepared for an unforgettable trip.
